How we did it
Komtur Hungary had received its wholesale distribution license just a few months earlier when a hospital in Budapest called with an urgent request.
Could we source a medicine for an 18-month-old child with spinal muscular atrophy?
The medicine was not registered in Europe at the time. Through Komtur’s global sourcing network, we located a supply. There was just one complication: it was on another continent.
Finding the medicine was the beginning. Getting it to the hospital required a supply agreement, an individual import license and coordinated transport and customs clearance, all under considerable time pressure.
Komtur Hungary brought those pieces together. While the contract and import authorization were being secured, our teams coordinated the transportation companies, customs clearance agency and warehouse around the hospital’s deadline.
The medicine arrived in time.
What was a first for our Hungarian team became the foundation for many similar supplies. Global reach found the product. Local expertise and close coordination made the delivery possible.
