ESG & Responsibility

Responsibility is built into how we operate and how we partner. At Komtur, it shapes how we design our facilities, manage supply chains, support patients, and govern our business.

We focus on Environmental Stewardship, Social Responsibility, and Ethics & Governance, with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strengthening each pillar.

Our aim is simple. To reduce our environmental impact, protect the patients and our partners, and operate with integrity at every step.

Environmental Stewardship

Reducing our footprint, supporting reliable care

We design facilities, logistics, and daily operations to lower environmental impact while maintaining pharmaceutical quality and operational reliability.

What this means in practice:

  • Green facilities in Freiburg and Warsaw with efficient heating and cooling, heat recovery, smart building controls, and water-saving systems
  • Sustainable logistics with route optimization, efficient cold chain management, and reusable or recyclable transport materials
  • Green mobility programs, including e-bike incentives in Germany (JobRad), low-emission commuting in Poland (Green Road), and EV charging where available
  • Biodiversity initiatives at our sites, including native landscaping, a retention pond at our Warsaw campus, and an onsite apiary supporting pollinators
  • Everyday operational measures such as filtered tap water (no bottled water service), waste segregation at source, digital-first documentation, and optimized travel and fleet usage

Social Responsibility

Putting patients and communities first

We enable access to treatments and support healthcare systems through practical, compliant, and patient-focused solutions.

What this means in practice:

  • Support for Named Patient and compassionate use pathways in line with local regulations
  • Rapid supply support for healthcare emergencies and humanitarian needs
  • Clinical trial supply to sites, along with guidance on logistics and regulatory requirements
  • Partnerships with local and global health organizations

Ethics & Governance

Integrity at every step

We operate within a governance framework designed to protect patients, partners, and data, while meeting strict regulatory standards across all markets.

What this means in practice:

  • GxP-compliant processes with full traceability from sourcing to delivery
  • Code of Conduct, anti-bribery and anti-corruption policies, and privacy and cybersecurity practices aligned with applicable regulations
  • Supplier qualification, audits, and ongoing risk assessment
  • Confidential whistleblowing channels available to employees and external partners

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

A workplace where everyone can contribute and grow

As a woman-owned company, we build inclusive teams and fair processes that support long-term development, collaboration, and accountability.

We believe that a company advancing patient access must reflect the diversity of the patients and communities it serves.

What this means in practice:

  • Inclusive hiring and advancement with clear policies on fair pay and equal opportunity
  • Leadership development programs supporting diverse talent across regions and functions
  • Ongoing training in inclusion, unconscious bias, and respectful collaboration
  • Engagement with diverse suppliers and partners where feasible

Our commitment:

  • Certified woman-owned business, led by Teresa Künle
  • Active alignment with UN Global Compact principles on human rights, labor, and inclusion
  • Continuous development of internal programs that strengthen belonging and representation
