How Komtur Shanghai coordinated comparator supply across five APAC markets for a strategically important head-to-head clinical trial.
How we did it
The study needed a biologic comparator from a major pharmaceutical manufacturer. Getting the right medicine was one challenge. Getting it in five local market presentations, on the client’s schedule, was another.
Between 2015 and 2017, a CRO asked Komtur to source the product in Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines and Hong Kong.
Each market had its own distribution arrangements. Exclusive distributors and supply quotas complicated procurement, while the study required the presentation supplied in each local market.
One sourcing route would not cover them all.
Komtur Shanghai mobilized qualified, independent local wholesale partners and coordinated supply centrally, without needing a Komtur office in each destination market.
Our teams oversaw the supply chain, including product checks, cold-chain temperature control and supply-chain traceability documentation.
Over two years, we supplied the required products to the respective markets, working around the distribution constraints.
